Day 17 of Thailand.. A day full of traveling!

Dear Diary,

Today we had transportation from Phuket to Koh Samui. My recommendation is if you can afford a flight, do it. We thought we would save some money by booking through ferrysamui.com. It wasn’t a bad company. It was just the long haul that got us. First of all we had a shuttle at 8am from At Zea Hotel in Tri Trang Beach, Patong which took us to Phuket Center to “check in,” get our bag stickers, and head to the bus. Which was located at a 7-11 (LOL). We got some snacks like cake, chocolate, and dried mango for the journey. Once on the bus we chose to sit up top and got comfy for the 5 hour ride. They didn’t tell us about he half way toilet/lunch spot. But I’m glad we didn’t know because we would have eaten there. Don’t eat the icky looking food at the rest spot. Or use the squarer toilets. That was by far the dirtiest place we’ve been to. I ran back to the bus and hid from the icky-ness. Once on the road again we saw some pretty mountains but that’s about it. We got to the ferry at about 3pm and had to wait around until 4. (They didn’t weigh our bags thank goodness!)

Once it was boarding time a storm was rolling in (great) but there was 3 stops. Koh Samui was first so guess where the bags got to go! Outside! And squished. (They do put a tarp over though.) It was a fairly nice ride with some mild rain to the island of Koh Samui. The ride was about 45 minutes. Once we arrived we got our bags (only one of my bags got a bit wet.) We opted to not do the 150 baht per person shuttle. We were exhausted so we split a taxi of 500 baht and went straight to our Air Bnb at the Intercontinental Resort in Baan Taling Ngam. Wow we were underdressed!!! But all in all we saved about 50$ each for taking the shuttle, bus, and ferry. Not with a day being missed in Koh Samui in my opinion!
